Even though we have sick benefits through our Collective Agreement, many new employees do not have an accumulation of days right away.
All workers in the province are now provided with five days of paid sick leave off work

Did you know that under Schedule “B” our collective agreement:
An employee whose shift is over three (3) to five and one half (5 ½) hours per day is entitled to one fifteen minute paid coffee break. An employee whose shift is over five and one half (5 ½) to eight (8) hours per day is entitled to two (2) fifteen minute paid coffee breaks, one in each half of the shift.

Dear Brothers and Sisters:
Last week, Arbitrator John Kinzie released his decision on the EA Wage Rate arbitration. He ruled that the appropriate rate for EAs is pay scale 9. EAs will be compensated retroactively to June 21, 2016 for the difference between pay scale 8 and pay scale 9. (.34 cents/hr)
We are very pleased to have achieved this important step forward for EAs.
