Don’t forget to claim your 2025 amount! If you want to use if for something not on the list, be sure to get it pre-approved.
The form is on the SD8 website under Human Resources https://sd8bcca.sharepoint.com/…/District-Forms.aspx
Just a reminder:
As our other benefits, the wellness plan has always been a taxable benefit, and is treated as income. This is per CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) rules. It is a reimbursement for a personal expense and subject to income tax as well as CPP and EI etc.
The full amount of what you paid for whatever you chose to use your wellness benefit for will show on the left side of your paystub, in with your wages and any other income since the CRA considers this income. The tax is shown on the right hand side included in the taxes you pay on all other income.
SD8 HR or Benefits and Payroll department can also answer any questions you may have.
